Tour Denver's Historic Santa Fe Art District
The Art District on Santa Fe, now includes a walking tour highlighting the history of one of Denver's oldest neighborhoods. Participants meet at 5:30 p.m. every Friday on the southeast corner of 6th and Santa Fe. Cost is $5 per person. No reservation is necessary, just show up and pay the guide. Summer Revival
The Light of the World Discipleship Church of Christ Jesus will hold its summer revival at the Friendship Baptist Church of Christ Jesus, 880 Fairfax Street, August 9 to11at 7 p.m. nightly.  Guest revivalist is Dr. C. E. Maze, Pastor of the Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church, Temple, Texas. The public is invited.

Brooks Center Arts Announces Season Auditions
Brooks Center Arts will hold auditions for the upcoming season on Sat., Aug.19 from 1 to 6 p.m. at the Historic First Divine Science Church, 1400 Williams St. in Denver. The center is seeking production help as well as actors of all ethnicities - males 9 to 90 and females 16 to 60.  African American and Latino actors are needed for a mixed race/ethnicity production of Romeo and Juliette.

CCI Charter School Announces Summer Harvest Festival
Challenges, Choices and Images Charter School invites the public to a festival celebrating the end of summer and back to school. The event will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, August 5. CCI Charter School is a Denver Public Charter School offering an African Centered curriculum to families and children, K-12, in the Denver area. The festival will be a free event at our Lowry Community College campus, 1059 Alton Way.  Bldg. #758.   
The festival will include food, fun, and an open house featuring new school programs for the 2006-07 school year. Applications will be accepted from students interested in attending CCI. For more information, call 720-858-2601.

Refugees And Immigrants Host African Market
Refugees and immigrants from Sudan, Somalia and Uganda will host an African Market on Sunday, Aug. 27 from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Augustana Lutheran Church, 5000 E. Alameda in Denver. The African Market will feature traditional African food, clothing, jewelry and music as well as a fashion show, hair braiding and henna. There will be food and beverages, stories, dancing, and arts & crafts. The event is designed to foster better understanding of the cultures and traditions of Denver’s residents who are refugees and immigrants from Africa.

ADL Hosts Golf Tournament
The Anti-Defamation League will host its third annual T-Up 4 ADL: Drive for Diversity on Monday, Aug. 28, at the Inverness Hotel and Golf Club, 200 Inverness Drive West, Englewood. Registration and breakfast begin at 6:30 a.m. The event starts at 7:30 a.m. with a shotgun start and scramble format.

Summer Art Garden Party and Fashion Show Opens
Alembic Arts, a new Colorado artists’ collective, presents the second in a trio of art events aimed at bringing the Metro Denver community together, featuring a fashion show. The summer weekend activities will be held Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 12 and 13 from 1 to 5 p.m. each day. The fashion show begins at 2 p.m. Saturday. Visitors are invited to watch artists’ demonstrations while listening to live jazz courtesy of “Askimbo” on Sunday. Master Chef and Alembic member, Mark McFadden, will cater. The event will be held at Alchemical Eye Studio, 6585 W. 62nd Pl, in Arvada.
